Then you will prosper, if you are careful to observe the statutes and the ordinances that the Lord commanded Moses for Israel. Be strong and of good courage. Do not be afraid or dismayed.


How can young people keep their way pure? By guarding it according to your word.


My child, do not let these escape from your sight: keep sound wisdom and prudence,


For I am rousing the Chaldeans, that fierce and impetuous nation, who march through the breadth of the earth to seize dwellings not their own.


You will be sated with contempt instead of glory. Drink, you yourself, and stagger! The cup in the Lord’s right hand will come around to you, and shame will come upon your glory!


Do you still not perceive? Do you not remember the five loaves for the five thousand and how many baskets you gathered?


Do you have eyes and fail to see? Do you have ears and fail to hear? And do you not remember?


But as for that in the good soil, these are the ones who, when they hear the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart and bear fruit with endurance.


“Let these words sink into your ears: The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into human hands.”


So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.


So be careful, lest you forget the covenant that the Lord your God made with you and make for yourselves an idol in the form of anything that the Lord your God has forbidden you.


“But take care and watch yourselves closely, so as neither to forget the things that your eyes have seen nor to let them slip from your mind all the days of your life; make them known to your children and your children’s children—


And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as children— “My child, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord or lose heart when you are punished by him,


And I will make every effort so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things.


This is now, beloved, the second letter I am writing to you; in them I am trying to arouse your sincere intention by reminding you
