He lived in the wilderness of Paran, and his mother got a wife for him from the land of Egypt.


The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.


They set out from Midian and came to Paran; they took people with them from Paran and came to Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt, who gave him a house, assigned him an allowance of food, and gave him land.


The Lord is high above all nations and his glory above the heavens.


Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his glory is above earth and heaven.


many are saying to me, “There is no help for you in God.” Selah


I cry aloud to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy hill. Selah


When you are disturbed, do not sin; ponder it on your beds, and be silent. Selah


Your name, O God, like your praise, reaches to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is filled with victory.


With mighty chariotry, twice ten thousand, thousands upon thousands, the Lord came from Sinai into the holy place.


The Lord has made himself known; he has executed judgment; the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands. Higgaion. Selah


Put them in fear, O Lord; let the nations know that they are only human. Selah


When all the people witnessed the thunder and lightning, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking, they were afraid and trembled and stood at a distance


Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and who rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel or consult the Lord!


And one called to another and said, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.”


When you did awesome deeds that we did not expect, you came down; the mountains quaked at your presence.


Concerning Edom. Thus says the Lord of hosts: Is there no longer wisdom in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom vanished?


And there the glory of the God of Israel was coming from the east; the sound was like the sound of mighty waters, and the earth shone with his glory.


So I will send a fire on Teman, and it shall devour the strongholds of Bozrah.


Your warriors shall be shattered, O Teman, so that everyone from Mount Esau will be cut off.


But the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.


Then the Israelites set out by stages from the wilderness of Sinai, and the cloud settled down in the wilderness of Paran.


He said, “The Lord came from Sinai and dawned from Seir upon us; he shone forth from Mount Paran. With him were myriads of holy ones, at his right, a host of his own.


and you said, ‘Look, the Lord our God has shown us his glory and greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the fire. We have seen this day that God may speak to someone and the person may still live.


Now Samuel died, and all Israel assembled and mourned for him. They buried him at his home in Ramah. Then David got up and went down to the wilderness of Paran.
