I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.


Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city; will you then sweep away the place and not forgive it for the fifty righteous who are in it?


Look, that city is near enough to flee to, and it is a little one. Let me escape there—is it not a little one?—and my life will be saved!”


Hurry, escape there, for I can do nothing until you arrive there.” Therefore the city was called Zoar.


If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is lurking at the door; its desire is for you, but you must master it.”


He will regard the prayer of the destitute and will not despise their prayer.


He fulfills the desire of all who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.


The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry.


The Lord said to Moses, “I will also do this thing that you have asked, for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.”


Thus says the Lord concerning this people: Truly they have loved to wander; they have not restrained their feet; therefore the Lord does not accept them; now he will remember their iniquity and punish their sins.


He will not break a bruised reed or quench a smoldering wick until he brings justice to victory.


I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything out of friendship, at least because of his persistence he will get up and give him whatever he needs.


Therefore he had to become like his brothers and sisters in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make a sacrifice of atonement for the sins of the people.


Then David received from her hand what she had brought him; he said to her, “Go up to your house in peace; see, I have heeded your voice, and I have granted your petition.”
