And Abraham hastened into the tent to Sarah and said, “Make ready quickly three measures of choice flour, knead it, and make cakes.”


Then he took curds and milk and the calf that he had prepared and set it before them, and he stood by them under the tree while they ate.


But he urged them strongly, so they turned aside to him and entered his house, and he made them a feast and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.


Woe to those who lie on beds of ivory and lounge on their couches and eat lambs from the flock and calves from the stall,


Cursed be the cheat who has a male in the flock and vows to give it and yet sacrifices to the Lord what is blemished, for I am a great King, says the Lord of hosts, and my name is reverenced among the nations.


Again he sent other slaves, saying, ‘Tell those who have been invited: Look, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready; come to the wedding banquet.’


And get the fatted calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate,


He replied, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fatted calf because he has got him back safe and sound.’


But when this son of yours came back, who has devoured your assets with prostitutes, you killed the fatted calf for him!’


Now the woman had a fatted calf in the house. She quickly slaughtered it, and she took flour, kneaded it, and baked unleavened cakes.
