Then Abram fell on his face, and God said to him,


Then the men set out from there, and they looked toward Sodom, and Abraham went with them to set them on their way.


So the men turned from there and went toward Sodom, while Abraham remained standing before the Lord.


He said, “My lord, if I find favor with you, do not pass by your servant.


The two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground.


Then Abraham bowed down before the people of the land.


Abraham rose and bowed to the Hittites, the people of the land.


Isaac went out in the evening to walk in the field, and, looking up, he saw camels coming.


Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him until daybreak.

When the company of prophets who were at Jericho saw him at a distance, they declared, “The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” They came to meet him and bowed to the ground before him.


Contribute to the needs of the saints; pursue hospitality to strangers.


Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.


Once when Joshua was by Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing before him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went to him and said to him, “Are you one of us or one of our adversaries?”


Be hospitable to one another without complaining.


And the angel of the Lord appeared to the woman and said to her, “Although you are barren, having borne no children, you shall conceive and bear a son.


Then she fell prostrate, with her face to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your sight, that you should take notice of me, when I am a foreigner?”
