God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

So God blessed the seventh day and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all the work that he had done in creation.

It is a sign forever between me and the Israelites that in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.’ ”


The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.


He has made everything suitable for its time; moreover, he has put a sense of past and future into their minds, yet they cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.


Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that evil and good come?


The Rock, his work is perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God, without deceit, just and upright is he;


For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, provided it is received with thanksgiving,


for it is sanctified by God’s word and by prayer.
