Ezekiel 34:27 - New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition 2021

27 The trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield its increase. They shall be secure on their soil, and they shall know that I am the Lord when I break the bars of their yoke and save them from the hands of those who enslaved them.

On that day, says the Lord of hosts, I will break his yoke from off your neck, and I will burst your bonds, and strangers shall no more make a servant of him.


Thus says the Lord God: When I gather the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered and manifest my holiness in them in the sight of the nations, then they shall settle on their own soil that I gave to my servant Jacob.


At Tehaphnehes the day shall be dark, when I break there the dominion of Egypt, and its proud might shall come to an end; the city shall be covered by a cloud, and its daughter towns shall go into captivity.


Then they shall know that I am the Lord, when I have made the land a desolation and a waste because of all their abominations that they have committed.


Thus says the Lord God: I am against the shepherds, and I will hold them accountable for my sheep and put a stop to their feeding the sheep; no longer shall the shepherds feed themselves. I will rescue my sheep from their mouths, so that they may not be food for them.


I will make with them a covenant of peace and banish wild animals from the land, so that they may live in the wild and sleep in the woods securely.


I will provide for them a splendid vegetation so that they shall no more be consumed with hunger in the land and no longer suffer the insults of the nations.


I will save you from all your uncleannesses, and I will summon the grain and make it abundant and lay no famine upon you.


I will make the fruit of the tree and the produce of the field abundant, so that you may never again suffer the disgrace of famine among the nations.


But you, O mountains of Israel, shall shoot out your branches and yield your fruit to my people Israel, for they shall soon come home.


You will say, “I will go up against the land of unwalled villages; I will fall upon the quiet people who live in safety, all of them living without walls and having no bars or gates,


After many days you shall be mustered; in the latter years you shall go against a land restored from war, a land where people were gathered from many nations on the mountains of Israel, which had long lain waste; its people were brought out from the nations and now are living in safety, all of them.


They shall bear their shame, and all the treachery they have practiced against me, when they live securely in their land with no one to make them afraid,


Then they shall know that I am the Lord their God because I sent them into exile among the nations and then gathered them into their own land. I will leave none of them behind,


On the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing.”


They shall come trembling like birds from Egypt and like doves from the land of Assyria, and I will return them to their homes, says the Lord.


I will take you for my wife in faithfulness, and you shall know the Lord.


I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be their slaves no more; I have broken the bars of your yoke and made you walk erect.


I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.


And I will grant peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and no one shall make you afraid; I will remove dangerous animals from the land, and no sword shall go through your land.


For there shall be a sowing of peace; the vine shall yield its fruit, the ground shall give its produce, and the skies shall give their dew, and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.
