He said to them, “You are the heads of families of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, you and your kindred, so that you may bring up the ark of the Lord, the God of Israel, to the place that I have prepared for it.


and prepare for the third day, because on the third day the Lord will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.


So Moses went down from the mountain to the people. He consecrated the people, and they washed their clothes.


On the morning of the third day there was thunder and lightning, as well as a thick cloud on the mountain and a blast of a trumpet so loud that all the people who were in the camp trembled.


gather the people. Consecrate the congregation; assemble the aged; gather the children, even infants at the breast. Let the bridegroom leave his room and the bride her canopy.


If a man lies with a woman and has an emission of semen, both of them shall bathe in water and be unclean until the evening.

Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.


Do not deprive one another except perhaps by agreement for a set time, to devote yourselves to prayer, and then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
