He said, “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who with his hand has fulfilled what he promised with his mouth to my father David, saying,


(for they are your people and heritage that you brought out of Egypt, from the midst of the iron smelter).


They are your servants and your people whom you redeemed by your great power and your strong hand.


Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.


Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against his people, and he abhorred his heritage;


with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, for his steadfast love endures forever;


O save your people and bless your heritage; be their shepherd and carry them forever.


With your strong arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. Selah


For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. O that today you would listen to his voice!


Now, therefore, if you obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession out of all the peoples. Indeed, the whole earth is mine,


Now if I have found favor in your sight, please show me your ways, so that I may know you and find favor in your sight. Consider, too, that this nation is your people.”


He said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, my Lord, I pray, let my Lord go with us. Although this is a stiff-necked people, pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”


Say therefore to the Israelites: I am the Lord, and I will free you from the burdens of the Egyptians and deliver you from slavery to them. I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great acts of judgment.


On that day the Lord will again raise his hand to recover the remnant that is left of his people, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea.


We have long been like those whom you do not rule, like those not called by your name.


Yet, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.


It is I who by my great power and my outstretched arm have made the earth, with the people and animals that are on the earth, and I give it to whomever I please.


the Lord’s own portion was his people, Jacob his allotted share.


But the Lord has taken you and brought you out of the iron smelter, out of Egypt, to become a people of his very own possession, as you are now.


Or has any god ever attempted to go and take a nation for himself from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs and wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, and by terrifying displays of power, as the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes?


Then the Lord said to me, ‘Get up; go down quickly from here, for your people whom you have brought from Egypt have acted corruptly. They have been quick to turn from the way that I commanded them; they have cast an image for themselves.’


I prayed to the Lord and said, ‘Lord God, do not destroy your people, your very own possession, whom you redeemed in your greatness, whom you brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
