Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of his father David, except that he sacrificed and offered incense at the high places.


Before him there was no king like him who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses, nor did any like him arise after him.


They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their ancestors, with all their heart and with all their soul,


The king stood in his place and made a covenant before the Lord, to follow the Lord, keeping his commandments, his decrees, and his statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that were written in this book.


Happy are those who keep his decrees, who seek him with their whole heart,


Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord.


“Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me,


He said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’


you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’


and ‘to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength’ and ‘to love one’s neighbor as oneself’—this is much more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”


He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and your neighbor as yourself.”


“So now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? Only to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul,


“You shall love the Lord your God, therefore, and keep his charge, his decrees, his ordinances, and his commandments always.


“If you will only heed his every commandment that I am commanding you today—loving the Lord your God and serving him with all your heart and with all your soul—


you must not heed the words of those prophets or those who divine by dreams, for the Lord your God is testing you, to know whether you indeed love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul.


The Lord your God you shall follow, him alone you shall fear, his commandments you shall keep, his voice you shall obey, him you shall serve, and to him you shall hold fast.


provided you diligently observe this entire commandment that I command you today, by loving the Lord your God and walking always in his ways—then you shall add three more cities to these three,


when you obey the Lord your God by observing his commandments and decrees that are written in this book of the law, because you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.


If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God that I am commanding you today, by loving the Lord your God, walking in his ways, and observing his commandments, decrees, and ordinances, then you shall live and become numerous, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to possess.


loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and holding fast to him, for that means life to you and length of days, so that you may live in the land that the Lord swore to give to your ancestors, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.”


“Moreover, the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, so that you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, in order that you may live.


From there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find him if you search after him with all your heart and soul.


Take good care to observe the commandment and instruction that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to keep his commandments, and to hold fast to him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.”


For the love of God is this, that we obey his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome,
