“Turn back and say to Hezekiah prince of my people: Thus says the Lord, the God of your ancestor David: I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; indeed, I will heal you; on the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.


When the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes and said, “Am I God, to give death or life, that this man sends word to me to cure a man of his skin disease? Just look and see how he is trying to pick a quarrel with me.”


And Ezra said, “You are the Lord, you alone; you have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. To all of them you give life, and the host of heaven worships you.


Yet these things you hid in your heart; I know that this was your purpose.


although you know that I am not guilty, and there is no one to deliver out of your hand?


For he wounds, but he binds up; he strikes, but his hands heal.


but you are the same, and your years have no end.


The children of your servants shall live secure; their offspring shall be established in your presence.


For who is God except the Lord? And who is a rock besides our God?


“Mark this, then, you who forget God, or I will tear you apart, and there will be no one to deliver.


Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have crushed rejoice.


Our God is a God of salvation, and to God, the Lord, belongs escape from death.


For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God.


He said, “If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in his sight, and give heed to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will not bring upon you any of the diseases that I brought upon the Egyptians, for I am the Lord who heals you.”


Then God said, “Put your hand back into your cloak”—so he put his hand back into his cloak, and when he took it out, it was restored like the rest of his body—


a time to kill and a time to heal; a time to break down and a time to build up;


The Lord will strike Egypt, striking but healing, so that they will return to the Lord, and he will listen to their supplications and heal them.


Moreover, the light of the moon will be like the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, like the light of seven days, on the day when the Lord binds up the injuries of his people and heals the wounds inflicted by his blow.


Who has performed and done this, calling the generations from the beginning? I, the Lord, am first and will be with the last.


You are my witnesses, says the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me.


I am the one who declared and saved and proclaimed, not some strange god among you; you are my witnesses, says the Lord, and I am God.


Indeed, since that day I am he; there is no one who can deliver from my hand; I work, and who can hinder it?


For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens (he is God!), who formed the earth and made it (he established it; he did not create it a chaos; he formed it to be inhabited!): I am the Lord, and there is no other.


Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.


I am the Lord, and there is no other; besides me there is no god. I arm you, though you do not know me,


even to your old age I am he; even when you turn gray I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.


Listen to me, O Jacob, and Israel, whom I called: I am he; I am the first, and I am the last.


Therefore prophesy and say to them: Thus says the Lord God: I am going to open your graves and bring you up from your graves, O my people, and I will bring you back to the land of Israel.


He said to me, “Mortal, can these bones live?” I answered, “O Lord God, you know.”


For I will be like a lion to Ephraim and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I myself will tear and go away; I will carry off, and no one shall rescue.


“Come, let us return to the Lord, for it is he who has torn, and he will heal us; he has struck down, and he will bind us up.


And among the nations the remnant of Jacob, surrounded by many peoples, shall be like a lion among the animals of the forest, like a young lion among the flocks of sheep, which, when it goes through, treads down and tears in pieces, with no one to deliver.


I told you that you would die in your sins, for you will die in your sins unless you believe that I am he.”


the Lord alone guided him; no foreign god was with him.


To you it was shown so that you would acknowledge that the Lord is God; there is no other besides him.


Know, therefore, that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who maintains covenant loyalty with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,


like a cloak you will roll them up, and like clothing they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will never end.”


saying, “Write in a book what you see, and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamum, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”


“And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These are the words of the First and the Last, who was dead and came to life:


The Lord kills and brings to life; he brings down to Sheol and raises up.
