35 All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does what he wills with the host of heaven and the inhabitants of the earth. There is no one who can stay his hand or say to him, “What have you done?”

But he stands alone, and who can dissuade him? What he desires, that he does.


When he is quiet, who can condemn? When he hides his face, who can behold him? Whether nation or person, it is the same—


“Shall a faultfinder contend with the Almighty? Anyone who argues with God must respond.”


“I know that you can do all things and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.


He is wise in heart and mighty in strength; who has resisted him and succeeded?


Our God is in the heavens; he does whatever he pleases.


Whatever the Lord pleases he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps.


From where he sits enthroned he watches all the inhabitants of the earth—


You have made my days a few handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing in your sight. Surely everyone stands as a mere breath. Selah


Hear this, all you peoples; give ear, all inhabitants of the world,


No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel can avail against the Lord.


For the word of the king is powerful, and who can say to him, “What are you doing?”


And the land of Judah will become a terror to the Egyptians; everyone to whom it is mentioned will fear because of the plan that the Lord of hosts is planning against them.


My soul yearns for you in the night; my spirit within me earnestly seeks you. For when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.


Indeed, since that day I am he; there is no one who can deliver from my hand; I work, and who can hinder it?


He delivers and rescues; he works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth; he has saved Daniel from the power of the lions.”


Then they cried out to the Lord, “Please, O Lord, we pray, do not let us perish on account of this man’s life. Do not make us guilty of innocent blood, for you, O Lord, have done as it pleased you.”


If then God gave them the same gift that he gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could hinder God?”

The king of Jericho was told, “Some Israelites have come here tonight to search out the land.”


So Samuel told him everything and hid nothing from him. Then he said, “It is the Lord; let him do what seems good to him.”
