Then Nebuchadnezzar in furious rage commanded that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego be brought in, so they brought those men before the king.


and ordered some of the strongest guards in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and to throw them into the furnace of blazing fire.


Then the king’s face turned pale, and his thoughts terrified him. His limbs gave way, and his knees knocked together.


The king gave a command, and those who had maliciously accused Daniel were brought and thrown into the den of lions—they, their children, and their wives. Before they reached the bottom of the den, the lions overpowered them and broke all their bones in pieces.


And if in spite of this you will not obey me, I will continue to punish you sevenfold for your sins.


“If you continue hostile to me and will not obey me, I will continue to plague you sevenfold for your sins.


then I, too, will continue hostile to you: I myself will strike you sevenfold for your sins.


I will continue hostile to you in fury; I in turn will punish you myself sevenfold for your sins.


When they heard this, they were enraged and wanted to kill them.


When they heard these things, they became enraged and ground their teeth at Stephen.
