So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has shown you all this, there is no one so discerning and wise as you.


In the morning his spirit was troubled, so he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt and all its wise men. Pharaoh told them his dreams, but there was no one who could interpret them to Pharaoh.


“But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Even heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you, much less this house that I have built!


“But will God indeed dwell with mortals on earth? Even heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you, much less this house that I have built!


“This is my resting place forever; here I will reside, for I have desired it.


You ascended the high mount, leading captives in your train and receiving gifts from people, even from those who rebel against the Lord God’s abiding there.


I will dwell among the Israelites, and I will be their God.


And the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God!” But Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he would not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.


Stand fast in your enchantments and your many sorceries, with which you have labored from your youth; perhaps you may be able to succeed; perhaps you may inspire terror.


For thus says the high and lofty one who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place and also with those who are contrite and humble in spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the contrite.


See, I and the children whom the Lord has given me are signs and portents in Israel from the Lord of hosts, who dwells on Mount Zion.


I, Nebuchadnezzar, was living at ease in my home and prospering in my palace.


There is a man in your kingdom who is endowed with a spirit of the holy gods. In the days of your father he was found to have enlightenment, understanding, and wisdom like the wisdom of the gods. Your father, King Nebuchadnezzar, made him chief of the magicians, enchanters, Chaldeans, and diviners,


I will avenge their blood, and I will not clear the guilty, for the Lord dwells in Zion.


You shall not defile the land in which you live, in which I also dwell, for I the Lord dwell among the Israelites.”


But Jesus looked at them and said, “For mortals it is impossible, but for God all things are possible.”


And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father’s only son, full of grace and truth.


This is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him because he abides with you, and he will be in you.


Jesus answered him, “Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.


What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, as God said, “I will live in them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.


And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “See, the home of God is among mortals. He will dwell with them; they will be his peoples, and God himself will be with them and be their God;
