They utter lies to each other; with flattering lips and a deceitful heart they speak.


Why do you boast, O mighty one, of mischief done against the godly? All day long

Those of low estate are but a breath; those of high estate are a delusion; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath.


Who can search out our crimes? We have thought out a cunningly conceived plot.” For the human heart and mind are deep.


Deceit is in the mind of those who plan evil, but those who counsel peace have joy.


The human mind may devise many plans, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will be established.


Like the glaze covering an earthen vessel are smooth lips with an evil heart.


Say: Thus says the Lord God: Will it prosper? Will he not pull up its roots, cause its fruit to rot and wither, its fresh sprouting leaves to fade? No strong arm or mighty army will be needed to pull it from its roots.


In the third year of King Cyrus of Persia a word was revealed to Daniel, who was named Belteshazzar. The word was true, and it concerned a great conflict. He understood the word, having received understanding in the vision.


He shall return to his land with great wealth, but his heart shall be set against the holy covenant. He shall work his will and return to his own land.


“At the time appointed he shall return and come into the south, but this time it shall not be as it was before.


Some of the wise shall fall, so that they may be refined, purified, and cleansed, until the time of the end, for there is still an interval until the time appointed.


“At the time of the end the king of the south shall attack him. But the king of the north shall rush upon him like a whirlwind, with chariots and horsemen and with many ships. He shall advance against countries and pass through like a flood.


So he came near where I stood, and when he came, I became frightened and fell prostrate. But he said to me, “Understand, O mortal, that the vision is for the time of the end.”


He said, “Listen, and I will tell you what will take place later in the period of wrath, for it refers to the appointed time of the end.


For there is still a vision for the appointed time; it speaks of the end and does not lie. If it seems to tarry, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.


He replied, “It is not for you to know the times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority.


because he has fixed a day on which he will have the world judged in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.”


Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers and sisters, you do not need to have anything written to you.
