And this good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world, as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.


For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day.


Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; this man was righteous and devout, looking forward to the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit rested on him.


Then one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who does not know the things that have taken place there in these days?”


Now among those who went up to worship at the festival were some Greeks.


He was a devout man who feared God with all his household; he gave alms generously to the people and prayed constantly to God.


When the angel who spoke to him had left, he called two of his slaves and a devout soldier from the ranks of those who served him,


But the Jews incited the devout women of high standing and the leading men of the city and stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas and drove them out of their region.


When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.


“A certain Ananias, who was a devout man according to the law and well spoken of by all the Jews living there,


Devout men buried Stephen and made loud lamentation over him.


So he got up and went. Now there was an Ethiopian eunuch, a court official of the Candace, the queen of the Ethiopians, in charge of her entire treasury. He had come to Jerusalem to worship


This day I will begin to put the dread and fear of you upon the peoples everywhere under heaven; when they hear report of you, they will tremble and be in anguish because of you.’


provided that you continue securely established and steadfast in the faith, without shifting from the hope promised by the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven. I, Paul, became a minister of this gospel.
