for I have five brothers—that he may warn them, so that they will not also come into this place of torment.’


Be alert at all times, praying that you may have the strength to escape all these things that will take place and to stand before the Son of Man.”


But there are also many other things that Jesus did; if every one of them were written down, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.


He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one ordained by God as judge of the living and the dead.


Judas and Silas, who were themselves prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the brothers and sisters.


Then Paul went upstairs, and after he had broken bread and eaten, he continued to converse with them until dawn; then he left.


When he had gone through those regions and had given them much encouragement, he came to Greece,


as I testified to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus.

A young man named Eutychus, who was sitting in the window, began to sink off into a deep sleep while Paul talked still longer. Overcome by sleep, he fell to the ground three floors below and was picked up dead.

yet his degenerate children have dealt falsely with him, a perverse and crooked generation.


so that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine like stars in the world,


As you know, we dealt with each one of you like a father with his children,


Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; continue in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and your hearers.


Through Silvanus, whom I consider a faithful brother, I have written this short letter to encourage you and to testify that this is the true grace of God. Stand fast in it.
