My belly is indeed like wine that has no vent; like new wineskins, it is ready to burst.

On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wines, of rich food filled with marrow, of well-aged wines strained clear.


Then the people of Ephraim shall become like warriors, and their hearts shall be glad as with wine. Their children shall see it and rejoice; their hearts shall exult in the Lord.


The Lord of hosts will protect them, and they shall consume and conquer the slingers; they shall drink their blood like wine and be full like a bowl, drenched like the corners of the altar.


For what goodness and beauty are his! Grain shall make the young men flourish, and new wine the young women.


Indeed, these are not drunk, as you suppose, for it is only nine o’clock in the morning.


If, therefore, the entire church comes together and all speak in tongues, and outsiders or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are out of your mind?


Do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,


So Eli said to her, “How long will you make a drunken spectacle of yourself? Put away your wine.”
