(He who saw this has testified so that you also may believe. His testimony is true, and he knows that he tells the truth, so that you also may continue to believe.)


This is the disciple who is testifying to these things and has written them, and we know that his testimony is true.


They answered, “Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and God-fearing man who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish people, was directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and to hear what you have to say.”


“A certain Ananias, who was a devout man according to the law and well spoken of by all the Jews living there,


Therefore, brothers and sisters, select from among yourselves seven men of good standing, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint to this task,


so that you may behave properly toward outsiders and be dependent on no one.


Moreover, he must be well thought of by outsiders, so that he may not fall into disgrace and the snare of the devil.


They said, “You have not defrauded us or oppressed us or taken anything from the hand of anyone.”
