10 So if I come, I will call attention to what he is doing in spreading false charges against us. And not content with those charges, he refuses to welcome the brothers and sisters and even prevents those who want to do so and expels them from the church.

In those days Peter stood up among the brothers and sisters (together the crowd numbered about one hundred twenty persons) and said,


I warned those who sinned previously and all the others, and I warn them now while absent, as I did when present on my second visit, that if I come again I will not be lenient—


So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all and especially for those of the family of faith.


Besides that, they learn to be idle, gadding about from house to house, and they are not merely idle but also gossips and busybodies, saying what they should not say.


If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive and welcome this person into your house,


Although I have much to write to you, I would rather not use paper and ink; instead, I hope to come to you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete.


For I was overjoyed when some brothers and sisters arrived and testified to your faithfulness to the truth, how you walk in the truth.


Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the brothers and sisters, even though they are strangers to you;
