David danced before the Lord with all his might; David was girded with a linen ephod.


As the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, and she despised him in her heart.

Then all the people departed to their homes, and David went home to bless his household.

While Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the female servants of the high priest came by.


When his family heard it, they went out to restrain him, for people were saying, “He has gone out of his mind.”


He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”


Now if you are unwilling to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served in the region beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living, but as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”


They gave him seventy pieces of silver out of the temple of Baal-berith with which Abimelech hired worthless and reckless fellows who followed him.


Now the sons of Saul were Jonathan, Ishvi, and Malchishua, and the names of his two daughters were these: the name of the firstborn was Merab, and the name of the younger was Michal.


Now Saul’s daughter Michal loved David. Saul was told, and the thing pleased him.
