“You shall not revile God or curse a leader of your people.


Like a sparrow in its flitting, like a swallow in its flying, an undeserved curse goes nowhere.


Do not curse the king, even in your thoughts, or curse the rich, even in your bedroom, for a bird of the air may carry your voice, or some winged creature tell the matter.


They will pass through the land, greatly distressed and hungry; when they are hungry, they will be enraged and will curse their king and their gods. They will turn their faces upward,


The Philistine said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.
