Father and mother are treated with contempt in you; the alien residing within you suffers extortion; the orphan and the widow are wronged in you.


In his place shall arise a contemptible person on whom royal majesty had not been conferred; he shall come in suddenly and seize the kingdom through intrigue.


They assembled against Moses and against Aaron and said to them, “You have gone too far! All the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them. So why then do you exalt yourselves above the assembly of the Lord?”


For God said, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Whoever speaks evil of father or mother must surely die.’


And Paul said, “I did not realize, brothers, that he was high priest, for it is written, ‘You shall not speak evil of a leader of your people.’ ”


Honor everyone. Love the family of believers. Fear God. Honor the emperor.


—especially those who indulge their flesh in depraved lust and who despise authority. Bold and willful, they are not afraid to slander the glorious ones,
