Jonathan said to the young man who carried his armor, “Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the Lord will act for us, for nothing can hinder the Lord from saving by many or by few.”


David said to Saul, “Let no one’s heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.”


So Samuel told him everything and hid nothing from him. Then he said, “It is the Lord; let him do what seems good to him.”


Take courage, and be men, O Philistines, in order not to become slaves to the Hebrews as they have been to you; be men and fight.”
