Then the man of God went back with him and ate food and drank water in his house.


And you magnified yourselves against me with your mouth and multiplied your words against me; I heard it.


“The king shall act as he pleases. He shall exalt himself and consider himself greater than any god and shall speak horrendous things against the God of gods. He shall prosper until the period of wrath is completed, for what is determined shall be done.


and the king said, “Is this not magnificent Babylon, which I have built as a royal capital by my mighty power and for my glorious majesty?”


And he testified with many other arguments and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”


Now a certain man named Simon had previously practiced magic in the city and amazed the people of Samaria, saying that he was someone great.


let us walk decently as in the day, not in reveling and drunkenness, not in illicit sex and licentiousness, not in quarreling and jealousy.


Now this I affirm and insist on in the Lord: you must no longer walk as the gentiles walk, in the futility of their minds;


He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, declaring himself to be God.


You have lived on the earth in luxury and in pleasure; you have nourished your hearts in a day of slaughter.


Thus he has given us, through these things, his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of lust and may become participants of the divine nature.


They have eyes full of adultery, insatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children!


Even so, many will follow their debaucheries, and because of these teachers the way of truth will be maligned.


For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overpowered, the last state has become worse for them than the first.


and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man greatly distressed by the debauchery of the lawless


You therefore, beloved, since you are forewarned, beware that you are not carried away with the error of the lawless and lose your own stability.


wild waves of the sea, casting up the foam of their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the deepest darkness has been reserved forever.


Then I saw another beast that rose out of the earth; it had two horns like a lamb, and it spoke like a dragon.
