When the woman of Tekoa came to the king, she fell on her face to the ground and did obeisance and said, “Help, O king!”


He said to him, “Say to her: Since you have taken all this trouble for us, what may be done for you? Would you have a word spoken on your behalf to the king or to the commander of the army?” She answered, “I live among my own people.”


Now as the king of Israel was walking on the city wall, a woman cried out to him, “Help, my lord king!”


So the woman got up and did according to the word of the man of God; she went with her household and settled in the land of the Philistines seven years.


Now the king was talking with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, “Tell me all the great things that Elisha has done.”


When the king questioned the woman, she told him. So the king appointed an official for her, saying, “Restore all that was hers, together with all the revenue of the fields from the day that she left the land until now.”


He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well. Is not this to know me? says the Lord.


So she set out from the place where she had been living, she and her two daughters-in-law, and they went on their way to go back to the land of Judah.
