When the company of prophets who were at Jericho saw him at a distance, they declared, “The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” They came to meet him and bowed to the ground before him.


The company of prophets who were in Bethel came out to Elisha and said to him, “Do you know that today the Lord will take your master away from you?” And he said, “Yes, I know; keep silent.”


The company of prophets who were at Jericho drew near to Elisha and said to him, “Do you know that today the Lord will take your master away from you?” And he answered, “Yes, I know; keep silent.”


Fifty men of the company of prophets also went and stood at some distance from them, as they both were standing by the Jordan.


When Elisha returned to Gilgal, there was a famine in the land. As the company of prophets was sitting before him, he said to his servant, “Put the large pot on, and make some stew for the company of prophets.”


But the man of God sent word to the king of Israel, “Take care not to pass this place, for the Arameans are going down there.”


and if the peoples of the land bring in merchandise or any grain on the Sabbath day to sell, we will not buy it from them on the Sabbath or on a holy day, and we will forego the crops of the seventh year and the exaction of every debt.


I gave my brother Hanani charge over Jerusalem, along with Hananiah the commander of the citadel, for he was a faithful man and feared God more than many.


For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;


But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children,


he will bless those who fear the Lord, both small and great.


but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.


The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender.


The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments, for that is the whole duty of everyone.


Though sinners do evil a hundred times and prolong their lives, yet I know that it will be well with those who fear God, because they stand in fear before him,


Thus says the Lord: Where is your mother’s bill of divorce with which I dismissed her? Or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? No, because of your sins you were sold, and for your transgressions your mother was dismissed.


“Every seventh year each of you must set free any Hebrews who have been sold to you and have served you six years; you must set them free from your service.” But your ancestors did not listen to me or incline their ears to me.


even after they have sold themselves they shall have the right of redemption; one of their brothers may redeem them,


Then those who revered the Lord spoke with one another. The Lord took note and listened, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who revered the Lord and thought on his name.


But for you who revere my name the sun of righteousness shall rise, with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.


and, as he could not pay, the lord ordered him to be sold, together with his wife and children and all his possessions and payment to be made.


But he refused; then he went and threw him into prison until he would pay the debt.


So my heavenly Father will also do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”


“Brothers and sisters, you descendants of Abraham’s family and others who fear God, to us the message of this salvation has been sent.


For judgment will be without mercy to anyone who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.


Lord, who will not fear and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your judgments have been revealed.”


And from the throne came a voice saying, “Praise our God, all you his servants and all who fear him, small and great.”


But Elimelech, the husband of Naomi, died, and she was left with her two sons.


Everyone who was in distress, and everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him, and he became captain over them. Those who were with him numbered about four hundred.
