4 But in the seventh year Jehoiada summoned the captains of the Carites and of the guards and had them come to him in the house of the Lord. He made a covenant with them and put them under oath in the house of the Lord; then he showed them the king’s son.

So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day and made statutes and ordinances for them at Shechem.


Then Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as his own soul.


Then the two of them made a covenant before the Lord; David remained at Horesh, and Jonathan went home.
