“As for yourselves, beware, for they will hand you over to councils, and you will be beaten in synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings because of me, as a testimony to them.


“Be on guard so that your hearts are not weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of this life and that day does not catch you unexpectedly,


To this day I have had help from God, and so I stand here, testifying to both small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would take place:


while we, for our part, will devote ourselves to prayer and to serving the word.”

I urge you, brothers and sisters, to keep an eye on those who create dissensions and hindrances, in opposition to the teaching that you have learned; avoid them.


to those who by patiently doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life,

If you put these instructions before the brothers and sisters, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished on the words of the faith and of the sound teaching that you have followed.


Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, so that they may also obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.


But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it


proclaim the message; be persistent whether the time is favorable or unfavorable; convince, rebuke, and encourage with the utmost patience in teaching.


holding tightly to the trustworthy word of the teaching, so that he may be able both to exhort with sound instruction and to refute those who contradict it.


Declare these things; exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one look down on you.


in all things, offering yourself as a model of good works and in your teaching offering integrity, gravity,


I, Paul, am writing this with my own hand: I will repay it. I say nothing about your owing me even your own self.


See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God, that no root of bitterness springs up and causes trouble and through it many become defiled.


Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by regulations about food, which have not benefited those who observe them.


you should know that whoever brings back a sinner from wandering will save the sinner’s soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
