Jacob came to Luz, that is, Bethel, which is in the land of Canaan, he and all the people who were with him,

Hear this, O priests! Give heed, O house of Israel! Listen, O house of the king! For the judgment pertains to you, for you have been a snare at Mizpah and a net spread upon Tabor


but do not seek Bethel, and do not enter into Gilgal or cross over to Beer-sheba, for Gilgal shall surely go into exile, and Bethel shall come to nothing.


While the Israelites were camped in Gilgal, they kept the Passover in the evening on the fourteenth day of the month in the plains of Jericho.


The Lord said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away from you the disgrace of Egypt.” And so that place is called Gilgal to this day.


He had thirty sons who rode on thirty donkeys, and they had thirty towns, which are in the land of Gilead and are called Havvoth-jair to this day.


He had forty sons and thirty grandsons who rode on seventy donkeys; he judged Israel eight years.


Sing of it, you who ride on white donkeys, you who sit on rich carpets, and you who walk by the way.


Samuel summoned the people to the Lord at Mizpah


Samuel said to the people, “Come, let us go to Gilgal and there renew the kingship.”


Then Samuel said, “Gather all Israel at Mizpah, and I will pray to the Lord for you.”
