Isaiah said, “This is the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do the thing that he has promised: Shall the shadow advance ten intervals, or shall it retreat ten intervals?”


He said, “I will be with you, and this shall be the sign for you that it is I who sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”


Then Gideon said to God, “In order to see whether you will deliver Israel by my hand, as you have said,


and you shall hear what they say, and afterward your hands shall be strengthened to attack the camp.” Then he went down with his servant Purah to the outposts of the armed men who were in the camp.


Now when these signs meet you, do whatever you see fit to do, for God is with you.


If they say to us, ‘Wait until we come to you,’ then we will stand still in our place, and we will not go up to them.
