When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon (fame due to the name of the Lord), she came to test him with riddles.


She came to Jerusalem with a very great retinue, with camels bearing spices and very much gold and precious stones, and when she came to Solomon, she told him all that was on her mind.


When the queen of Sheba had observed all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built,


I now do according to your word. Indeed, I give you a wise and discerning mind; no one like you has been before you, and no one like you shall arise after you.


Solomon answered all her questions; there was nothing hidden from Solomon that he could not explain to her.


Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools suffers harm.


I will lead the blind by a road they do not know; by paths they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I will do, and I will not forsake them.


He answered, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.


Anyone who resolves to do the will of God will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own.


In contrast, God is why you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,


in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
