For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.


Nevertheless, on some points I have written to you rather boldly by way of reminder, because of the grace given me by God


Thus I make it my ambition to proclaim the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, so that I do not build on someone else’s foundation,


For no one can lay any foundation other than the one that has been laid; that foundation is Jesus Christ.


If I am not an apostle to others, at least I am to you, for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.


We do not boast beyond limits, that is, in the labors of others, but our hope is that, as your faith increases, our field among you may be greatly enlarged,


built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone;


For this I toil and strive with all the energy that he powerfully inspires within me.


And say to Archippus, “See that you complete the task that you have received in the Lord.”


and sent Timothy, our brother and God’s coworker in the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you for the sake of your faith,


Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; continue in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and your hearers.


Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved by him, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly explaining the word of truth.


Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers and sisters, for you know that we who teach will face stricter judgment.


Whoever speaks must do so as one speaking the very words of God; whoever serves must do so with the strength that God supplies, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ. To him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.


and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation. So also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given him,


And the wall of the city has twelve foundations, and on them are the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
