The Israelites set out and camped in the plains of Moab across the Jordan from Jericho.
“Take a census of the people, from twenty years old and up,” as the Lord commanded Moses. The Israelites who came out of the land of Egypt were:
These were those enrolled by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who enrolled the Israelites in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.
Then they brought the captives and the plunder and the spoil to Moses, to Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of the Israelites, at the camp on the plains of Moab by the Jordan opposite Jericho.
