Then Jesus told his disciples, “If any wish to come after me, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.


Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.”


As he walked by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea—for they were fishers.


Immediately they left their nets and followed him.


But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”


As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax-collection station, and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he got up and followed him.


As he was walking along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax-collection station, and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he got up and followed him.


After this he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax-collection station, and he said to him, “Follow me.”


To another he said, “Follow me.” But he said, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”


The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, “Follow me.”


Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also. Whoever serves me, the Father will honor.


Jesus said to him, “If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? Follow me!”


Be that as it may, I did not burden you. But, crafty person that I am, did I take you in by deceit?
