When the Lord saw that Leah was unloved, he opened her womb, but Rachel was barren.
Jacob became very angry with Rachel and said, “Am I in the place of God, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?”
But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and all the domestic animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters subsided;
He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the Lord!
Sons are indeed a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.
