Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed and said to himself, “Can a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Can Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?”


He looked up and saw three men standing near him. When he saw them, he ran from the tent entrance to meet them and bowed down to the ground.


When all the people saw it, they fell on their faces and said, “The Lord indeed is God; the Lord indeed is God.”


He said further, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.


Like the bow in a cloud on a rainy day, such was the appearance of the splendor all around. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. When I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard the voice of someone speaking.


So I rose up and went out into the valley, and the glory of the Lord stood there, like the glory that I had seen by the River Chebar, and I fell on my face.


While they were killing and I was left alone, I fell prostrate on my face and cried out, “Ah Lord God! Will you destroy all who remain of Israel as you pour out your wrath upon Jerusalem?”


When I heard the sound of his words, I fell into a trance, face to the ground.


Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the Israelites.


They fell on their faces and said, “O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one person sin and you become angry with the whole congregation?”


“Get away from this congregation, so that I may consume them in a moment.” And they fell on their faces.
