Word of Yahweh

Michtam of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave. Be merciful unto me, O Elohim, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

A Psalm or Song of Asaph. Unto thee, O Elohim, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Yahweh, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Because thou hast made Yahweh, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not

Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

I prayed therefore unto Yahweh, and said, O Sovereign Yahweh, destroy not thy people and thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed through thy greatness, which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

And He shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Yahweh recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of Yahweh Elohim of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.

David therefore departed thence, and escaped to the cave Adullam: and when his brethren and all his father's house heard it, they went down there to him.

And he came to the sheepcotes by the way, where was a cave; and Saul went in to cover his feet: and David and his men remained in the sides of the cave.

And the men of David said unto him, Behold the day of which Yahweh said unto thee, Behold, I will deliver thine enemy into thine hand, that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee. Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul's robe privily.

David also arose afterward, and went out of the cave, and cried after Saul, saying, My master the king. And when Saul looked behind him, David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed himself.

And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can stretch forth his hand against Yahweh's anointed, and be guiltless?
