And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but thou art an Eloah ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not.

Yahweh is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.

But thou, O Yahweh, art an El full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

For thou, Yahweh, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.

But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

Then his master, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

And they put away the strange elohim from among them, and served Yahweh: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.
