Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.
And Moses besought Yahweh his Elohim, and said, Yahweh, why doth thy wrath grow hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?
Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? did he not fear Yahweh, and besought Yahweh, and Yahweh repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls.
But if they be prophets, and if the word of Yahweh be with them, let them now make intercession to Yahweh of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of Yahweh, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon.
Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of Yahweh: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.
Let the priests, the ministers of Yahweh, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Yahweh, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their Elohim?
