Word of Yahweh

I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died:

And Yahweh your Elohim, he shall expel them from before you, and drive them from out of your sight; and ye shall possess their land, as Yahweh your Elohim hath promised unto you.

Judges 1:1

Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel asked Yahweh, saying, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first, to fight against them?

Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their elohim shall be a snare unto you.
