And David's heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And Davidsaid unto Yahweh, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O Yahweh, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto Yahweh; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against Yahweh thy Elohim, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith Yahweh.
We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us: for we have sinned against Yahweh our Elohim, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of Yahweh our Elohim.
Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent there: for Yahweh our Elohim hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against Yahweh.
Behold, O Yahweh; for I am in distress: my heart is troubled; mine heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: abroad the sword bereaveth, at home there is as death.
And now, O Yahweh our Elohim, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten thee renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.
And it came to pass, that when they had made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Sovereign Yahweh, forgive, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.
