Word of Yahweh

And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

And Solomon stood before the altar of Yahweh in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:

And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto Yahweh, he arose from before the altar of Yahweh, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto Yahweh my Elah,

Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night.

Surely El will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.

Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless Yahweh.

Maschil, A Psalm of David. Give ear to my prayer, O Elohim; and hide not thyself from my supplication.

If I regard iniquity in my heart, Yahweh will not hear me:

And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto Yahweh; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know how that the earth is Yahweh's.

Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

When Yahweh shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.

Verily thou art an El that hidest thyself, O Elohim of Israel, the Saviour.

Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.

Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.

And I will wait upon Yahweh, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

Therefore thus saith Yahweh, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.

When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.

For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now for my soul is wearied because of murderers.

Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain.

Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?

And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.

They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Yahweh; but they shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.

Then shall they cry unto Yahweh, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.

Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith Yahweh of hosts:

But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Now we know that Elohim heareth not sinners: but if any man fear Yahweh, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
