As many as desire to make a fair show in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the [torture] stake of the Messiah.

For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the good news, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
