And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto Yahweh; perhaps I shall make an atonement for your sin.
Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of Yahweh, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.
For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following Yahweh, and made them sin a great sin.
For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves to day to Yahweh, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.
