Word of Yahweh

For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith Yahweh was wroth against you to destroy you. But Yahweh hearkened unto me at that time also.

They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.

Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

When Elohim heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel:

Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon Yahweh, and he answered them.

And Yahweh repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.

And Yahweh said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.

And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of Yahweh: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee.

And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto Yahweh, the fire was quenched.

And I stayed in the mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights; and Yahweh hearkened unto me at that time also, and Yahweh would not destroy thee.

And then Yahweh's wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which Yahweh giveth you.

And Yahweh was very angry with Aaron to have destroyed him: and I prayed for Aaron also the same time.

Also in Horeb ye provoked Yahweh to wrath, so that Yahweh was angry with you to have destroyed you.

And so formidable was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:
