Deuteronomy 31:17

Word of Yahweh

Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our Elohim is not among us?

Yahweh our Elohim be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:

Go ye, enquire of Yahweh for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great is the wrath of Yahweh that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.

And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the Elohim of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for Yahweh searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; Yahweh is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

So the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. The same time also did Libnah revolt from under his hand; because he had forsaken Yahweh Elohim of his fathers.

And the Spirit of Elohim came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith Elohim, Why transgress ye the commandments of Yahweh, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken Yahweh, he hath also forsaken you.

Now therefore, our Elohim, the great, the mighty, and the terrible El, who keepest covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.

Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thine enemy?

For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.

Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.

Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O Elohim of my salvation.

Yahweh, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.

Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.

How long, Yahweh? wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?

Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.

Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.

Therefore is the anger of Yahweh kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

O Yahweh, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.

And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.

And I will wait upon Yahweh, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

And when this people, or the prophet, or a priest, shall ask thee, saying, What is the burden of Yahweh? thou shalt then say unto them, What burden? I will even forsake you, saith Yahweh.

Therefore, behold, I, even I, will utterly forget you, and I will forsake you, and the city that I gave you and your fathers, and cast you out of my presence:

They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.

It may be they will present their supplication before Yahweh, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that Yahweh hath pronounced against this people.

And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said unto him, Yahweh thy Elohim hath pronounced this evil upon this place.

Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people because of them that dwell in a far country: Is not Yahweh in Zion? is not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with strange vanities?

Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Sovereign Yahweh.

They have spoken words, swearing falsely in making a covenant: thus judgment springeth up as hemlock in the furrows of the field.

Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, that there shall not be a man left: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them

Then shall they cry unto Yahweh, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.

Go not up, for Yahweh is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies.

Yahweh will not spare him, but then the anger of Yahweh and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and Yahweh shall blot out his name from under heaven.

I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other elohim.

Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for Yahweh thy Elohim is among you, a mighty El to be held in awe.

And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of Yahweh, and served Baalim, and Ashtaroth, and the elohim of Syria, and the elohim of Zidon, and the elohim of Moab, and the elohim of the children of Ammon, and the elohim of the Philistines, and forsook Yahweh, and served not him.

And Gideon said unto him, Oh my master, if Yahweh be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not Yahweh bring us up from Egypt? but now Yahweh hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.
