Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:

For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass.

And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spoke, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.

And when they had preached the good news to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,

So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timothy and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season.

Timothy my work fellow, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you.

Now if Timothy come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of Yahweh, as I also do.

For this cause have I sent unto you Timothy, who is my beloved son, and faithful in Yahweh, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in the Messiah, as I teach every where in every assembly.

For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

But now when Timothy came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:

This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;

Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.
