And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.
And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?
Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?
Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent unto Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith Yahweh Elohim of Israel, Whereas thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria:
It may be Yahweh thy Elohim will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living Elohim, and will reprove the words which Yahweh thy Elohim hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which The Sovereign hath made known unto us.
For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
