Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.
If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but bear all things, lest we should hinder the good news of the Messiah.
For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and sincerity of Yahweh, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of Yahweh, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.
